Code, Health - General § 10–514","heading":"","body":"(a) In Part II of this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Large private group home” means a private group home that admits at least 10 but not more than 16 individuals.\n(c) “License” means a license issued by the Secretary to operate a private group home.\n(d) (1) “Private group home” means a residence in which individuals who have been or are under treatment for a mental disorder may be provided care or treatment in a homelike environment.\n(2) “Private group home” does not include:\n(i) Any facility that is owned by or leased to this State or any public agency;\n(ii) Any facility that is regulated by the Department of Juvenile Services;\n(iii) Any facility that is regulated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration;\n(iv) Any facility that is organized wholly or partly to make a profit; or\n(v) A foster home that is the domicile of the foster parent.\n(e) “Small private group home” means a private group home that admits at least 4 but not more than 9 individuals.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=10-514","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"381dc99b50606ac86cdfd794c1cd256be806069e647822227cb82258e1063ca0","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-10-511","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-10-516"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
