Code, Health - General § 13–1202","heading":"","body":"The General Assembly finds that:\n(1) Maternal deaths are a serious public health concern and have a tremendous family and societal impact;\n(2) Maternal deaths are significantly underestimated and inadequately documented, preventing efforts to identify and reduce or eliminate the causes of death;\n(3) No processes exist in the State for the confidential identification, investigation, or dissemination of findings regarding maternal deaths; and\n(4) There is a need to establish a Maternal Mortality Review Program to review maternal deaths and to develop strategies for the prevention of maternal deaths.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=13-1202","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"4a980988b3f9bff024daf1201160b13a07b69594cc2e48055b9e21deb108244d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-1201","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-1203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
