Code, Health - General § 13–2103","heading":"","body":"The Advisory Board consists of the following 36 voting members:\n(1) The following two members, who shall serve ex officio:\n(i) One member of the Senate, to be appointed by the President of the Senate; and\n(ii) One member of the House of Delegates, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House;\n(2) The Secretary of Disabilities, or the Secretary’s designee;\n(3) The Secretary of Health, or the Secretary’s designee;\n(4) The Secretary of Education, or the Secretary’s designee;\n(5) One representative of the State Department of Education, Division of Rehabilitation Services, appointed by the Director of the Division;\n(6) One representative of the Maryland Department of Health, Developmental Disabilities Administration, appointed by the Director of the Administration;\n(7) One representative of the Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration, appointed by the Director of the Administration;\n(8) One representative of the Maryland Department of Health, Prevention and Health Promotion Administration, Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, appointed by the Director of the Center;\n(9) One representative of the Maryland Department of Health, Prevention and Health Promotion Administration, Office for Genetics and People with Special Health Care Needs, appointed by the Director of the Office;\n(10) One representative of the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems, appointed by the Director of the Institute;\n(11) One representative of the Maryland Department of Health, Office of Health Services, appointed by the Director of the Office;\n(12) One representative of the Maryland Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration, appointed by the Director of the Administration;\n(13) Four representatives of the Brain Injury Association of Maryland, appointed by the Executive Director of the Association;\n(14) One representative of the Maryland Statewide Independent Living Council, appointed by the Executive Director of the Council;\n(15) One representative of the Maryland Disability Law Center, Maryland’s Protection Advocacy System, appointed by the Director of the Office;\n(16) One representative of the National Institutes of Health, appointed by the Director of the Institutes; and\n(17) The following 16 members, appointed by the Governor:\n(i) One representative of State or local law enforcement;\n(ii) Six Maryland citizens who have experienced a traumatic brain injury;\n(iii) Five Maryland citizens who are currently caring for, or are family members of, individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury; and\n(iv) Four professionals with specialized experience in providing services to individuals with traumatic brain injuries or traumatic brain injury prevention activities.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=13-2103","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"bc6bca222fc5261482818be34f166152bfa5f4e522bf7d5f47f9ab98b08977e2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-2102","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-2104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
