Code, Health - General § 13–2203","heading":"","body":"The Child Abuse Medical Providers (Maryland CHAMP) faculty shall:\n(1) Assist local and regional jurisdictions to develop standards and protocols for the composition and operation of local or regional Child Abuse Medical Providers (Maryland CHAMP);\n(2) Provide training and consultation to local or regional Child Abuse Medical Providers (Maryland CHAMP) in the diagnosis and treatment of child abuse and neglect;\n(3) Provide financial support to part–time local and regional expert clinic staff for the diagnosis and treatment of child abuse and neglect;\n(4) Collaborate with local or regional child advocacy centers and forensic nurse examiner programs; and\n(5) Help assure that medical professionals have access to information on how to cooperate with local departments of social services, child advocacy centers, and local law enforcement officers to:\n(i) Protect children from trauma during the process of child abuse and neglect investigations and prosecution;\n(ii) Minimize the number of times each child is interviewed and examined; and\n(iii) Minimize the potential for influencing a child’s statement.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=13-2203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"cba66157bc0200564cd996349d872acc8bc75fff54b55db64738929372608165","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-2202","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-2204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
