Code, Health - General § 13–3001","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Cord blood transplant center” means a medical facility that uses cells obtained from a human umbilical cord or placenta to treat pediatric or adult patients afflicted with a disease or injury.\n(c) “Fund” means the Cord Blood Transplant Center Support Fund.\n(d) “Qualified medical institution” means a medical institution accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations that:\n(1) Is located in the State; and\n(2) Has an established hematologic malignancies research program.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=13-3001","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"f5de5eeb82c371b8e5b8af74dbb6a096fd06133bf1219e23774269a2ab6029af","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-2703","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-13-3002"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
