Code, Health - General § 15–123","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Convicted” includes being convicted after a plea of nolo contendere.\n(3) “Fraud” includes the commission of or an attempt or conspiracy to commit the crimes of:\n(i) Concealment of medical records;\n(ii) Violation of Title 8, Subtitle 5, Part II of the Criminal Law Article;\n(iii) False representations relating to Medicaid health plans;\n(iv) Misappropriation by a fiduciary; and\n(v) Theft.\n(b) A health care provider who is convicted of fraud in connection with the Program or a similar federal or State program is ineligible for further payment under the Program.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=15-123","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"e7aa6467f670257bde4b3c6d3e67132993988f20e8700261c42e0227e8903d7d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-15-122.3","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-15-124.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
