Code, Health - General § 15–148","heading":"","body":"(a) Except for a drug or device for which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a black box warning, the Program and the Maryland Children’s Health Program may not apply a prior authorization requirement for a contraceptive drug or device that is:\n(1) (i) An intrauterine device; or\n(ii) An implantable rod;\n(2) Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; and\n(3) Obtained under a prescription written by an authorized prescriber.\n(b) The Program and the Maryland Children’s Health Program shall provide coverage for a single dispensing to an enrollee of a supply of prescription contraceptives for a 12–month period.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=15-148","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"26e9e7bf27c340be165b9f0905579aa9089204ef10e7d813d748ba4d374090c5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-15-147","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-15-149"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
