Code, Health - General § 17–208","heading":"","body":"(a) The Secretary shall issue a license to any applicant who meets the standards and requirements of this subtitle and in regulations adopted pursuant to this subtitle.\n(b) A medical laboratory license shall include the name of the:\n(1) Medical laboratory;\n(2) Laboratory director; and\n(3) Owner of the laboratory.\n(c) A medical laboratory license shall designate the:\n(1) Complexity of testing that the laboratory may offer or perform;\n(2) Classes of services that may be offered;\n(3) Tests or examinations that may be offered or performed by the laboratory; or\n(4) Any combination of items (1), (2), and (3) of this subsection.\n(d) A medical laboratory may not operate in any manner beyond what is designated by its license.\n(e) A medical laboratory license issued by the Secretary under this subtitle is not transferable.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=17-208","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"ddcaaaa862fdf99c87bfe0bcbd342e5e5d2dac33ee1753561b984f685f4ca5bb","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-17-207","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-17-210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
