Code, Health - General § 18–601","heading":"","body":"(a) An individual who has an infectious disease that endangers public health may not willfully:\n(1) Be in a public place without taking proper precautions against exposing other individuals to the disease; or\n(2) Transfer to another individual any article that has been exposed to the disease without thoroughly disinfecting the article.\n(b) A person who violates any provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=18-601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"ad6d9a2454a4ec97167ca4a16c7323304a86a3640e754d9172db1f1c006493bc","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-18-509","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-18-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
