Code, Health - General § 18–707","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Advisory Council consists of 7 members.\n(2) (i) The Secretary shall appoint the members from a list submitted to the Secretary by:\n1. Appropriate academic or research facilities having expertise in this area;\n2. The Chief Medical Examiner; and\n3. The Secretary of the Department of the Environment.\n(ii) The number of names on the list shall be 3 times the number of vacancies.\n(b) Each member shall be an individual with demonstrated scientific and technical expertise in the field of toxicology, epidemiology, or occupational medicine.\n(c) (1) The term of a member is 5 years.\n(2) The terms of members are staggered as required by the terms provided for members of the Council on July 1, 1988.\n(3) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(4) A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(d) The Secretary may remove a member for incompetence or misconduct.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=18-707","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"06f8803b149802df5506741a23a6c583478ffdda3114e6df54632f9d440a3049","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-18-706","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-18-708"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
