Code, Health - General § 18–802","heading":"","body":"(a) In consultation with dental care providers, the Secretary shall develop and implement ongoing oral cancer educational programs in the State:\n(1) To train health care providers to screen and properly refer patients with oral cancers; and\n(2) To promote smoking cessation with a primary focus of meeting the needs of high-risk underserved populations.\n(b) The programs developed and implemented under subsection (a) of this section shall address:\n(1) The risk factors that lead to oral cancer;\n(2) The signs and symptoms of oral cancer;\n(3) The high-risk behaviors that may lead to oral cancer; and\n(4) The accessibility of screening to detect oral cancer.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=18-802","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"9fdc72cd0d855be7905130c23d11446e7c28fe5c9f46ebe66ab4ea731bfcd988","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-18-801","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-18-901"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
