Code, Health - General § 19–1413","heading":"","body":"Each nursing home shall:\n(1) Establish a procedure to provide for the smooth and orderly transfer of residents in the event of closure;\n(2) Provide a 30-day notice to residents and their families or guardians prior to closure of the nursing home unless the Department waives the notice requirement;\n(3) Provide a 15-day notice to residents and their families or guardians prior to termination of public funding unless the Department waives the notice requirement; and\n(4) Immediately notify, if known, a resident’s family or guardian of:\n(i) An accident involving the resident which results in injury and has the potential for requiring physician intervention;\n(ii) A significant change in the resident’s physical, mental, or psychosocial status; or\n(iii) A need to alter the resident’s treatment significantly.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=19-1413","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"3f260876ea12a4a57c412955a4cfe37ff6e22649deca6d1bc50406a00faa1ed5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-19-1412","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-19-1413.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
