Code, Health - General § 20–101","heading":"","body":"(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a minor who is at least 17 years old, without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, may give blood to a program that:\n(1) Is voluntary;\n(2) Does not pay money for the blood; and\n(3) Is approved by:\n(i) The American Association of Blood Banks; or\n(ii) The American Red Cross.\n(b) (1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a minor who is at least 16 years old, and has obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian, may give blood to the programs listed in subsection (a) of this section.\n(2) Consent may be obtained via telephone or electronic means.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=20-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"a169b35b5504455a71fc1f0fb20c5d80677b800e9be33ac86a2e11ecefce01af","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-19-2602","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-20-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
