Code, Health - General § 24–2502","heading":"","body":"(a) A person whose primary business is providing medical services, products, or devices, or the person’s agent or assignee:\n(1) May not disclose any portion of a medical debt to a consumer reporting agency; and\n(2) Shall include in any contract entered into with a collection entity for the purchase or collection of medical debt a provision prohibiting the disclosure of any portion of the medical debt to a consumer reporting agency.\n(b) A contract entered into on or after October 1, 2025, that does not include the provision required under subsection (a)(2) of this section is void and unenforceable.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=24-2502","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"90bc7268db290c6258d9d08b4fb72396a9a12c29549164222fe8f8ea09ac2443","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-24-2501","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-24-2601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
