Code, Health - General § 24–2701","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Health care facility” means a facility or an office where health care is provided to patients by a health care practitioner or group of health care practitioners licensed, certified, or otherwise authorized by law to provide health care services.\n(2) “Health care facility” includes:\n(i) A hospital, as defined in § 19–301 of this article;\n(ii) A freestanding medical facility, as defined in § 19–3A–01 of this article;\n(iii) A nursing facility;\n(iv) A residential treatment center;\n(v) A rehabilitation facility; and\n(vi) A facility operated by the Department, the Behavioral Health Administration, or a health officer.\n(c) “Service member” has the meaning stated in § 9–901 of the State Government Article.\n(d) “Service member community member” means:\n(1) A service member;\n(2) A veteran;\n(3) The spouse of a service member or veteran;\n(4) A child of a service member or veteran; or\n(5) A stepchild of a service member or veteran.\n(e) “Veteran” has the meaning stated in § 9–901 of the State Government Article.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=24-2701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"60111dda222e5b0fe5458dee57d7cb9a555eb7041daf12da2a49ef13b5eec801","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-24-2602","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-24-2702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
