Code, Health - General § 7–509","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “respite care” means care that is made available for an individual with an intellectual disability in a State residential center to provide relief for the person with whom the individual ordinarily lives.\n(b) Under regulations that the Department adopts, each State residential center shall reserve at least 2 percent, but not more than 4 percent, of its total beds for respite care.\n(c) Respite care for an individual may not exceed 45 days within any 1–year period or 28 consecutive days.","path":["Article - Health - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghg\u0026section=7-509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:48Z","sha256":"baabce447dbb47ca9ff0f10ce240904cae2899b18b0de322df6a9e59b043cf7b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-7-508","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-general-7-510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
