Code, Health Occupations § 1–603","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a health occupations board may not bring charges against a licensee or certificate holder based solely on events contained in a complaint the board receives more than 6 years after:\n(1) The day the complainant actually discovered the facts that form the basis of the complaint; or\n(2) The day when a reasonable person exercising due diligence should have discovered the facts that form the basis of the complaint.\n(b) This section does not apply to a complaint based on:\n(1) Criminal convictions or sexual misconduct or other similar boundary violations;\n(2) Reciprocal discipline matters;\n(3) Ongoing substance abuse;\n(4) Fraudulent concealment of material information; or\n(5) Acts that occur while a patient is a minor.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=1-603","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"dd54b09dae357e8ba2ae961b38294c06809b709be0be31c194458778124c16a3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-1-602","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-1-604"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
