Code, Health Occupations § 1–901","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Health care practitioner” means an individual who:\n(1) Provides behavioral health services to a patient in the State; and\n(2) Is licensed in the State by:\n(i) The State Board of Nursing;\n(ii) The State Board of Physicians;\n(iii) The State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists;\n(iv) The State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; or\n(v) The State Board of Social Work Examiners.\n(c) “Teletherapy” means telehealth, as defined in § 15–139 of the Insurance Article, used to deliver behavioral health services.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=1-901","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"fa1ecaf5c23eb822c250088e67bc0ebd469557ea31f0e612834d64844b725831","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-1-802","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-1-902"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
