Code, Health Occupations § 11–310","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Board shall place a licensee on inactive status, if the licensee submits to the Board:\n(i) An application for inactive status on the form required by the Board; and\n(ii) The inactive status fee set by the Board.\n(2) The Board shall issue a license to an individual who is on inactive status if the individual:\n(i) Meets any continuing education requirements set by the Board; and\n(ii) Pays to the Board the reinstatement fee set by the Board.\n(b) The Board may reinstate the license of an optometrist whose license has been expired for less than 5 years and who has not been put on inactive status, if the optometrist:\n(1) Has met the continuing education requirements set by the Board;\n(2) Meets the renewal requirements of § 11-308 of this subtitle; and\n(3) Pays to the Board the reinstatement fee set by the Board.\n(c) The Board may not reinstate the license of an optometrist whose license has been expired for 5 years or more and who has not been put on inactive status, unless the optometrist:\n(1) Passes an examination administered by the Board; and\n(2) Otherwise meets the requirements of subsection (b) of this section.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=11-310","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"8f32be514224cb6f84186ec8abfe0cef6d2bbeb305239dd9f4bd50fe7557e70e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-11-309","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-11-311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
