Code, Health Occupations § 12–308","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A license expires on the date set by the Board unless it is renewed for an additional term as provided in this section.\n(2) A license may not be renewed for a term longer than 2 years.\n(b) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, the Board shall send to each licensee, at least 1 month before a license expires, a renewal notice by electronic means to the last known e–mail address of the licensee.\n(2) If requested by a licensee, the Board shall send to the licensee a renewal notice by first–class mail to the last known address of the licensee.\n(3) If a renewal notice sent by electronic means under paragraph (1) of this subsection is returned to the Board as undeliverable, the Board shall send to the licensee a renewal notice by first–class mail to the last known address of the licensee.\n(4) A renewal notice sent under this subsection shall state:\n(i) The date on which the current license expires;\n(ii) The date by which the renewal application must be received by the Board for the renewal to be issued and mailed before the license expires; and\n(iii) The amount of the renewal fee.\n(c) Before the license expires, the licensee periodically may renew it for an additional term set by the Board in its regulations, if the licensee:\n(1) Otherwise is entitled to be licensed;\n(2) Pays to the Board a renewal fee set by the Board; and\n(3) Submits to the Board:\n(i) A renewal application on the form that the Board requires; and\n(ii) Satisfactory evidence of compliance with the continuing education requirements set under this subtitle for license renewal.\n(d) The Board shall renew the license of and issue a renewal certificate to each licensee who meets the requirements of this section.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=12-308","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"e50060c789c22b7d97ea3d2979a5040b3a58f83492b2584f8fdf5ac99cc2a45c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-12-307","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-12-309"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
