Code, Health Occupations § 12–6B–06","heading":"","body":"(a) Registration authorizes a registered pharmacy technician to perform delegated pharmacy acts as defined in § 12–101 of this title while the registration is effective.\n(b) A registered pharmacy technician or a pharmacy technician trainee may not:\n(1) Act within the parameters of a therapy management contract as provided under Subtitle 6A of this title;\n(2) Make decisions that require the professional judgment of a pharmacist;\n(3) Delegate a pharmacy act that was delegated to the registered pharmacy technician or individual engaging in a Board approved technician training program; or\n(4) Perform other functions prohibited by regulations adopted by the Board.\n(c) (1) A registered pharmacy technician may administer, in accordance with § 12–508 of this title:\n(i) An influenza, COVID–19, or pneumonia vaccination to an individual at least 18 years old; and\n(ii) A respiratory syncytial virus or shingles vaccination to an individual at least 50 years old.\n(2) Except as provided in paragraph (1) of this subsection, a registered pharmacy technician may not administer a vaccination in accordance with § 12–508 of this title.\n(d) A pharmacy technician trainee may not administer a vaccination in accordance with § 12–508 of this title.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=12-6B-06","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"21826d554f74b863cc2227a8947d0b040f69f2ab150ff3a45a3b789915e555e1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-12-6b-05","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-12-6b-07"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
