Code, Health Occupations § 14–311","heading":"","body":"(a) An applicant who otherwise qualifies for a license under this title is entitled to sit for an examination as provided under this section or any regulations adopted to carry out this section.\n(b) An applicant shall:\n(1) Attain on the federation licensing examination or the United States Medical Licensing Examination a passing score as set by the Board under its rules and regulations; or\n(2) Hold a certificate of proficiency and professional standing of:\n(i) The National Board of Medical Examiners;\n(ii) The board of medical examiners of this State or any other state that was issued before January 1, 1985;\n(iii) The National Board of Examiners for Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, if the certificate is issued after January 1, 1971; or\n(iv) The Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=14-311","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"36f04634a7003b4816157a1ca91384de1439b2b9333c98032f7250eca95da4a5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-14-309","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-14-312"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
