Code, Health Occupations § 14–320.1","heading":"","body":"(a) The Board may place a licensee on emeritus status, if the licensee submits to the Board:\n(1) An application for emeritus status on the form required by the Board; and\n(2) The emeritus status fee set by the Board.\n(b) The Board shall place a licensee on emeritus status if the individual:\n(1) Has an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine under this subtitle;\n(2) Is not under investigation by the Board for a violation of this title;\n(3) Has practiced medicine in this State for at least 10 years;\n(4) Has not been the subject of disciplinary action in a jurisdiction where the individual is licensed that resulted in the revocation or suspension of the individual’s license; and\n(5) Attests that the individual is retired and is no longer actively practicing medicine in this State.\n(c) A licensee on emeritus status is exempt from the continuing education requirements under § 14–316(d) of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=14-320.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"2e98d7f09ba4ae137dc642a9743806186dd0af2739a63bccb167bafb0cfc4404","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-14-320","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-14-322"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
