Code, Health Occupations § 15–402.1","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, a licensed physician may not employ an individual practicing as a physician assistant who does not have a license or who has not provided notice to the Board as required under § 15–302(a) of this title.\n(b) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, an employer may not employ an individual practicing as a physician assistant who does not have a license.\n(c) A disciplinary panel may impose a civil penalty in an amount not exceeding $5,000 for a violation of this section.\n(d) The Board shall remit any penalty collected under this subsection into the Board of Physicians Fund.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=15-402.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"906a5cb6517e7fa3490c95305d285b95430f8cdb975a21714b6533f0394a5084","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-15-402","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-15-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
