Code, Health Occupations § 2–302.3","heading":"","body":"(a) To qualify for a license to assist in the practice of speech–language pathology, an applicant shall be an individual who meets the requirements of this section.\n(b) The applicant shall:\n(1) Be of good moral character;\n(2) Hold a baccalaureate degree in speech–language pathology or communication sciences and disorders from an accredited institution or other degree as provided for in regulations adopted by the Board;\n(3) Have successfully completed the clinical observation hours and supervised clinical assisting experience hours required by the regulations adopted by the Board;\n(4) After a period of supervised practice by a licensed speech–language pathologist, have successfully completed a competency skills checklist as provided for in regulations adopted by the Board;\n(5) Demonstrate oral competency; and\n(6) Submit to a criminal history records check in accordance with § 2–303.1 of this subtitle.\n(c) The Board may waive any of the qualifications required under this section as provided for in regulations adopted by the Board.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=2-302.3","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"3a3111dee5fc983d4645297e75de32261e06e38a9d6c999600fe810131d2e533","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-302.2","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
