Code, Health Occupations § 2–402.3","heading":"","body":"(a) Unless authorized to practice as a speech–language pathology assistant under this title or unless otherwise provided for under this article, a person may not represent to the public, by title, description of services, methods, or procedures, or otherwise, that the person:\n(1) Is authorized to practice as a speech–language pathology assistant in the State; or\n(2) Assists in the practice of speech–language pathology.\n(b) Unless authorized to practice as a speech–language pathology assistant under this title or unless otherwise provided for under this article, a person may not use any word or term connoting professional proficiency in assisting the practice of speech–language pathology, including:\n(1) “Communication assistant”;\n(2) “Speech assistant”;\n(3) “Speech–language assistant”;\n(4) “Speech–language teacher”; or\n(5) “Speech teacher”.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=2-402.3","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"0baab6aedaa775b43eb71e0f97ba35407d143b04a999f04c5b96ec24ec965e99","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-402.2","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-402.4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
