Code, Health Occupations § 2–402.4","heading":"","body":"(a) Unless authorized to practice as an audiology assistant under this title or unless otherwise provided for under this article, a person may not represent to the public, by title, description of services, methods, or procedures, or otherwise, that the person:\n(1) Is authorized to practice as an audiology assistant in the State; or\n(2) Assists in the practice of audiology.\n(b) Unless authorized to practice as an audiology assistant under this title or unless otherwise provided for under this article, a person may not use any word or term connoting professional proficiency in assisting the practice of audiology, including:\n(1) “Audiology assistant”;\n(2) “Audiologist assistant”;\n(3) “Audiometry assistant”;\n(4) “Audiometrist assistant”;\n(5) “Audiological assistant”;\n(6) “Hearing aid technician”; or\n(7) “Cochlear implant technician”.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=2-402.4","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"b17eff1b6d5e6c8c1dcfbadc697d1ff0db4b2ce9907ba94daf45c3b985a783fc","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-402.3","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
