Code, Health Occupations § 2–4A–06","heading":"","body":"(a) To qualify for a license, an applicant shall be an individual who meets the requirements of this section.\n(b) The applicant shall:\n(1) Be of good moral character; and\n(2) Be at least 18 years old.\n(c) The applicant shall:\n(1) (i) Be a board certified music therapist; and\n(ii) Provide proof:\n1. A. Of passing the examination for board certification offered by the Certification Board for Music Therapists or any successor organization; or\nB. Of being transitioned into board certification; and\n2. That the applicant is currently a board certified music therapist;\n(2) Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in music therapy, or its equivalent, including clinical training, from an educational program that is:\n(i) Approved by the American Music Therapy Association or any successor organization; and\n(ii) Within an accredited college or university;\n(3) Be in good standing based on a review of the applicant’s music therapy licensure, certification, or registration history in other jurisdictions, including a review of any disciplinary actions in the practice of music therapy; and\n(4) Meet any other requirements established by the Board.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=2-4A-06","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"e9ce7b4f01837d17f6228c8662d6d64d149e12924b1f7e7b40f23096ac9228b2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-4a-05","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-4a-07"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
