Code, Health Occupations § 2–4A–10","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A license expires on a date set by the Board unless the license is renewed for an additional term as provided in this section.\n(2) A license may not be renewed for a term longer than 2 years.\n(b) At least 1 month before a license expires, the Board shall send to the licensee, by first–class mail or e–mail to the last known address of the licensee, a renewal notice that states:\n(1) The date on which the current license expires;\n(2) The date by which the renewal application must be received by the Board for the renewal to be issued and mailed before the license expires; and\n(3) The amount of the renewal fee.\n(c) Before a license expires, the licensee periodically may renew the license for an additional term if the licensee:\n(1) Otherwise is entitled to be licensed;\n(2) Pays to the Board a renewal fee set by the Board; and\n(3) Submits to the Board:\n(i) A renewal application on the form that the Board requires; and\n(ii) Satisfactory evidence of compliance with any continuing education requirements established by the Board under subsection (d) of this section.\n(d) (1) The Board shall establish continuing education requirements as a condition of the renewal of licenses under this section.\n(2) The continuing education requirements shall include proof of completion of at least 40 hours of continuing education in a program approved by the Certification Board of Music Therapists or any successor organization.\n(e) The Board shall renew the license of each licensee who meets the requirements of this section.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=2-4A-10","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"03b650ec18735e8aa9a0c720f5b4c98e545aacdcd58afbd7759faf8c378b40b2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-4a-09","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-2-4a-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
