Code, Health Occupations § 4–312","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to the provisions of this section, the Board may issue a temporary license to practice dental hygiene to an applicant who:\n(1) Is licensed to practice dental hygiene in any other state or any province of Canada;\n(2) Meets any other qualifications that the Board establishes;\n(3) Submits to the Board an application on the form that the Board requires;\n(4) Has graduated from a dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation; and\n(5) Pays to the Board an application fee set by the Board.\n(b) While it is effective, a temporary license to practice dental hygiene authorizes the holder to practice dental hygiene subject to the same restrictions imposed on a holder of a general license to practice dental hygiene.\n(c) A temporary license to practice dental hygiene expires when licenses are issued to those who pass the first examination for a general license to practice dental hygiene given over 30 days after the effective date of the temporary license.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=4-312","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"2938599d84307a844806a0d9d6f7b80fe8c201550236872dabf0ce93867fa87e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-4-311.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-4-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
