Code, Health Occupations § 7–102","heading":"","body":"(a) This title does not limit the right of an individual to practice a health occupation that the individual is authorized to practice under this article.\n(b) (1) In this subsection, “registrant or permit holder” means a person regulated under Title 5 of the Business Regulation Article as a registered cemeterian, registered reduction operator, registered seller, or holder of a permit to operate a cemetery, reduction facility, or burial goods business.\n(2) This title does not apply to:\n(i) The business of operating a cemetery, including the sale of cemetery lots, grave sites, mausoleums, monuments, lawn crypts, or vaults;\n(ii) The ownership of a crematory or reduction facility or the business of operating a crematory or reduction facility in which:\n1. A registrant or permit holder owns a greater percentage of the crematory or reduction facility than a person licensed under this title;\n2. Ownership is equal between a registrant or permit holder and a person licensed under this title; or\n3. Neither a registrant, permit holder, or person licensed under this title has an ownership interest in the crematory or reduction facility; or\n(iii) The ownership of a crematory or the business of operating a crematory or incinerator at a licensed medical facility or educational institution.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=7-102","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"3b388f17e8f51bb9415c4319004a69202e2a4e6a6255977cb8765aff77ad7225","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-7-101","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-7-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
