Code, Health Occupations § 7–603","heading":"","body":"(a) An individual employed by a permit holder shall be registered with the Board as a transporter before the individual may remove and transport human remains.\n(b) To register as a transporter, an individual shall submit to the Board:\n(1) A signed application on the form that the Board requires;\n(2) A criminal history records check; and\n(3) Evidence of the completion of coursework recommended by the Board.\n(c) The Board shall register an individual who:\n(1) Holds a valid driver’s license; and\n(2) Has complied with all applicable State and local laws.\n(d) While a registered transporter removes and transports human remains or otherwise acts in the capacity of a registered transporter, the registered transporter shall:\n(1) Treat every decedent with the utmost dignity; and\n(2) Prominently display on their person the permit for the mortuary transport service for which the transporter is employed.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=7-603","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"60cb369672a0167aa89651e91924bc24580ccdea8b42ce9a9b0770dab38bc089","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-7-602","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-7-604"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
