Code, Health Occupations § 9–205","heading":"","body":"(a) In addition to the powers set forth elsewhere in this title, the Board may:\n(1) Adopt rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of this title; and\n(2) Take any action necessary to enable the State to meet applicable federal requirements.\n(b) In addition to the duties set forth elsewhere in this title, the Board shall:\n(1) Report directly to the Secretary, as the Secretary requires;\n(2) Adopt standards for:\n(i) Licensure of applicants; and\n(ii) Practice of licensees;\n(3) Devise examinations and adopt investigative procedures to:\n(i) Determine whether licensees meet the standards adopted by the Board; and\n(ii) Assure that licensees continue to meet these standards; and\n(4) Conduct a continuing study and investigation of nursing homes and nursing home administrators to improve:\n(i) Licensing standards; and\n(ii) Procedures for enforcing these standards.","path":["Article - Health Occupations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gho\u0026section=9-205","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:58Z","sha256":"d58ea30c47ebfba7c4e29a5d27bf534ddd5a2e290855878b45d8a04938fd38a5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-9-204","next":"us-md/md.-code-health-occupations-9-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
