Code, Housing and Community Development § 10–104","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Board consists of 14 trustees.\n(2) The nonvoting trustees are:\n(i) the Secretary;\n(ii) a member of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of the House; and\n(iii) a member of the Senate, appointed by the President of the Senate.\n(3) With the advice and consent of the Senate, the Governor shall appoint 11 voting trustees, consisting of:\n(i) four representatives of the public; and\n(ii) one representative of each of the following:\n1. title companies doing business in the State;\n2. financial institutions doing business in the State;\n3. political subdivisions;\n4. nonprofit housing developers;\n5. for profit housing developers;\n6. public housing authorities; and\n7. social services providers.\n(b) In appointing trustees, the Governor shall consider geographic representation.\n(c) Service as a trustee is not a State office or State employment for purposes of any prohibition against holding two public positions.\n(d) (1) The term of a voting trustee is 4 years.\n(2) The terms of voting trustees are staggered as required by the terms provided for voting trustees on October 1, 2005.\n(3) At the end of a term, a voting trustee continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(4) A voting trustee who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=10-104","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"76aa2cc0baf479b406cebf95a41e767c3681b46fde4504a9d28d836f83f52a6e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-10-103","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-10-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
