Code, Housing and Community Development § 16–305","heading":"","body":"(a) An employee organization that is certified or that seeks certification as an exclusive representative shall submit to the labor relations administrator a copy of the employee organization’s constitution and bylaws and any amendment to them.\n(b) The constitution or bylaws shall include:\n(1) a pledge that the employee organization accepts members without regard to age, marital status, national origin, race, religion, disabilities, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity;\n(2) the right of members to participate in the affairs of the employee organization;\n(3) procedures for periodic elections of officers by secret ballot;\n(4) fair procedures governing disciplinary actions;\n(5) procedures for the accurate accounting of all income and expenditures;\n(6) a requirement that a certified annual financial report be produced; and\n(7) the right of members to inspect the employee organization’s accounts.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=16-305","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"ba1e256ee51d04d8223e6d7314aaf4e50ed8b5e285661e468858b5d0c6a46159","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-16-304","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-16-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
