Code, Housing and Community Development § 16–311","heading":"","body":"(a) A mediator panel may be used in collective bargaining when:\n(1) the Montgomery Commission and the employee organization agree to mediation; or\n(2) an impasse results, and the Montgomery Commission or the employee organization requests mediation.\n(b) (1) The Montgomery Commission and the employee organization shall:\n(i) each choose one mediator from a list supplied by the American Arbitration Association or the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service; and\n(ii) together choose a third mediator from a list supplied by the American Arbitration Association or the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.\n(2) If the Montgomery Commission and the employee organization cannot agree on a jointly appointed mediator, the labor relations administrator shall choose the third mediator.\n(c) The Montgomery Commission and the employee organization shall share the costs of mediation equally.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=16-311","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"3295c49b0a4b5f2730477923b7d0640a21256e74d58b7a0de80ac4b8b4804aea","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-16-310.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-16-312"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
