Code, Housing and Community Development § 4–2702","heading":"","body":"(a) An unaccompanied minor in need of shelter may consent to shelter and supportive services if the service provider reasonably believes that:\n(1) the unaccompanied minor understands the significant benefits, responsibilities, risks, and limits of the shelter and services and can communicate an informed consent;\n(2) the unaccompanied minor understands the requirements and rules of the shelter and services; and\n(3) the shelter and services are necessary to ensure the unaccompanied minor’s safety and well–being.\n(b) An unaccompanied minor in need of shelter who is a parent may consent to shelter and supportive services for the minor’s child.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=4-2702","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"01435c372ccba295feab265d2bc815567f87d5edaf85d4e9295367be9afcd11a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-4-2701","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-4-2703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
