Code, Housing and Community Development § 4–410","heading":"","body":"(a) If a Program loan is secured by a mortgage, the Department may:\n(1) enforce the mortgage;\n(2) foreclose on the mortgage and take title to the mortgaged property or take deed in lieu of foreclosure;\n(3) convey title to a purchaser;\n(4) obtain and enforce a deficiency judgment;\n(5) allow assumption of the mortgage; and\n(6) contract with a private mortgage servicer to perform on behalf of the Department any functions a servicer ordinarily performs.\n(b) Without approval or execution by the Board of Public Works, the Department may:\n(1) assign a mortgage for value; or\n(2) convey property after acquisition.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=4-410","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"19b44956c212ef029af878dd604ab7165d1d5c18295f3d474b9ec88ee2c25a50","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-4-409","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-4-411"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
