Code, Housing and Community Development § 4–933","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not knowingly make or cause to be made a false statement of material fact, including an overstatement or understatement of financial condition, to influence the action of the Department on a grant or loan or an application for a grant or loan under this subtitle.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 2 years or a fine not exceeding $5,000 or both.\n(c) If a borrower violates this section, the Department may immediately accelerate the loan, whether or not a criminal prosecution has begun and regardless of the status of the prosecution.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=4-933","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"076bb71e4aba833bdb883f2e654c2e3a3688c16c73ce52b0f6e8915c399071e5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-4-931","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-4-1001"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
