Code, Housing and Community Development § 6–701","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Community development financial institution” has the meaning stated in 12 U.S.C. § 4702.\n(c) “Community development organization” means an entity that meets the requirements under § 6–704 of this subtitle.\n(d) (1) “Financial assistance” means a grant, a loan, or an investment provided under this subtitle.\n(2) “Financial assistance” includes:\n(i) an assurance;\n(ii) a guarantee;\n(iii) a prepayment of interest on a subordinate or superior loan or portion of a loan;\n(iv) a reduction in the principal obligation of or rate of interest payable on a loan or a portion of a loan; and\n(v) any other form of credit enhancement.\n(e) “National capital region” means the areas of the State located within a sustainable community in Montgomery County or Prince George’s County.\n(f) “Program” means the National Capital Strategic Economic Development Program.\n(g) “Sustainable community” means an area designated as a sustainable community under § 6–205 of this title.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=6-701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"f557444651adaf6d24f79cfbf6bc1b0df3f04febcc9e0b259d6c0cdc33d781f8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-6-609","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-6-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
