Code, Housing and Community Development § 6–703","heading":"","body":"(a) The community enhancement projects eligible to receive Program funds include:\n(1) down payment assistance for homebuyers to purchase and rehabilitate homes;\n(2) programs to acquire or rehabilitate vacant or blighted properties;\n(3) programs to improve existing residential and business properties;\n(4) programs to achieve energy efficiency through weatherization and energy retrofits;\n(5) development of affordable housing;\n(6) development of mixed–use projects that combine housing, retail, and office space;\n(7) development or enhancement of community open space or public infrastructure;\n(8) workforce and employment development programs, when associated with other projects listed under this subsection;\n(9) career and technical education and apprenticeship programs, when associated with other projects listed under this subsection; and\n(10) strategic demolition.\n(b) Program funds may be used for operating costs necessary to implement a community enhancement project.\n(c) The Secretary may establish additional community enhancement projects eligible to receive Program funds.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=6-703","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"189c5c44f1c540f2a9741cfffa66c4a810af3e90fdb347517e3f6259789031c8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-6-702","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-6-704"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
