Code, Housing and Community Development § 6–706","heading":"","body":"(a) The Department shall:\n(1) review each application submitted under § 6–705 of this subtitle and may request additional information from the applicant;\n(2) accept public input on each application; and\n(3) consider the recommendation of any State unit.\n(b) (1) The Department may not approve an application until the Department has provided written notice and a reasonable opportunity to comment to the political subdivision where the proposed community enhancement project is located.\n(2) If the application affects a neighborhood entirely within a municipal corporation, the Department must provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to comment to the municipal corporation and not the surrounding county.\n(3) If an application affects a neighborhood within more than one political subdivision, the Department must provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to comment to each political subdivision.\n(c) The Secretary shall, subject to subsection (b) of this section, award financial assistance to an applicant:\n(1) in the amount and of the type that the Secretary determines; and\n(2) under the terms of a Program agreement.","path":["Article - Housing and Community Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghs\u0026section=6-706","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:07Z","sha256":"9691cbd276f15acd20b6472126aa8ed25382143d220b38e1e0b6fa1ce023698a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-6-705","next":"us-md/md.-code-housing-and-community-development-6-707"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
