Code, Human Services § 10–307","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Interagency Committee shall establish and coordinate a program to provide single points of entry within each planning and service area.\n(2) The Department shall supervise the program for the Interagency Committee.\n(b) Each area agency shall operate a single point of entry program to assess the needs of seniors and their caregivers and provide appropriate services.\n(c) The following services shall be provided through a single point of entry:\n(1) providing current information on available programs, services, or benefits;\n(2) determining the service needs of each senior who requests service;\n(3) processing requests for service from seniors;\n(4) through widely publicized local outreach facilities and communications systems, providing access to available public and private programs and services for seniors, including:\n(i) transportation services;\n(ii) health and nutrition services;\n(iii) financial assistance;\n(iv) social services;\n(v) educational services;\n(vi) services available through volunteer organizations or private agencies;\n(vii) appropriate housing arrangements;\n(viii) health insurance counseling;\n(ix) employment and volunteer opportunities;\n(x) respite care services; and\n(xi) other programs, information, counseling, or benefits for seniors;\n(5) monitoring the outcome of requests for service or information; and\n(6) arranging with other agencies for individual assessment to determine the service needs of a frail or health–impaired senior.\n(d) To the extent possible, each single point of entry shall be:\n(1) located in a senior citizen center; and\n(2) available for access at least 5 days a week.\n(e) Local interagency committees on services to seniors shall make agreements among themselves and with other agencies to provide staff on a regular basis at the single points of entry to:\n(1) provide information and services to seniors; and\n(2) administer agency programs.","path":["Article - Human Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghu\u0026section=10-307","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:17Z","sha256":"e640f3c52842263c627a945ddc04860b2af2f51eb3818f97e744a6318d7becef","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-human-services-10-306","next":"us-md/md.-code-human-services-10-308"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
