Code, Human Services § 7–1004","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Council shall employ an Executive Director.\n(2) The Executive Director shall have experience with, and possess qualifications relevant to, the activities and purposes of the Council.\n(b) The Council may:\n(1) employ a staff;\n(2) adopt bylaws, policies, and procedures related to operating the Council;\n(3) retain any necessary accountants, financial advisors, or other consultants;\n(4) maintain offices at a place the Council designates in the State;\n(5) accept loans, grants, or assistance of any kind from any entity of federal, State, or local government, an institution of higher education, or a private source if the Council gives prior notice to the Designated State Entity;\n(6) enter into contracts and other legal instruments;\n(7) sue or be sued; and\n(8) do all things necessary or convenient to carry out the powers granted by this subtitle.","path":["Article - Human Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghu\u0026section=7-1004","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:17Z","sha256":"2671fba50083b14c660289a3691aa02d6c4d2f9073966db7fbd733110200a209","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-human-services-7-1003","next":"us-md/md.-code-human-services-7-1005"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
