Code, Human Services § 7–305","heading":"","body":"(a) The Commission shall:\n(1) solicit and gather concerns of caregivers by:\n(i) conducting surveys;\n(ii) holding public hearings;\n(iii) establishing a telephone hotline for public access; and\n(iv) other appropriate means;\n(2) develop and distribute to interested parties a handbook of current respite care and other family caregiver services available in the State;\n(3) review successful respite care programs in other states;\n(4) develop a model family caregiver support program that incorporates best practices from existing programs in this and other states;\n(5) provide ongoing analysis of best practices in family caregiver support programs in this and other states;\n(6) coordinate activities of existing and proposed family caregiver support services among State and local units;\n(7) research available funding sources and explore possibilities for additional funds;\n(8) identify unmet needs and priorities for additional funds; and\n(9) monitor implementation of the Commission’s recommendations.\n(b) The Commission shall report annually on its activities and recommendations regarding family caregiver support services to the Governor and, subject to § 2–1257 of the State Government Article, the General Assembly.","path":["Article - Human Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ghu\u0026section=7-305","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:17Z","sha256":"a52495ed8f59816fb475d9423c79b69621e22168c1a16889a0942c967d6cade7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-human-services-7-304","next":"us-md/md.-code-human-services-7-401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
