Code, Insurance § 15–101","heading":"","body":"This title does not apply to:\n(1) a policy of liability or workers’ compensation and employer’s liability insurance;\n(2) a group or blanket policy, except as otherwise provided in this title;\n(3) reinsurance; or\n(4) a life insurance, endowment, or annuity contract, or contract supplemental to a life insurance, endowment, or annuity contract that contains only those provisions relating to health insurance that:\n(i) provide additional benefits in case of dismemberment, loss of sight, or death by accident or accidental means;\n(ii) provide additional benefits for long-term home health care and long-term care in a nursing home or other related institution; or\n(iii) operate to safeguard the contract or supplemental contract against lapse or to provide a special surrender value, special benefit, or annuity in the event that the insured or annuitant becomes totally and permanently disabled, as defined by the contract or supplemental contract.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=15-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"9cb041d5fdc6a112c5c3eeb7a01bb9815039b40543aa13e189a9856419fbcb52","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-14-612","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
