Code, Insurance § 15–10B–12","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A person who violates any provision of § 15-10B-11 of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a penalty not exceeding $1,000.\n(2) Each day a violation is continued after the first conviction is a separate offense.\n(b) In addition to the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, if any person violates any provision of § 15-10B-11 of this subtitle, the Commissioner may:\n(1) deny, suspend, or revoke the certificate to do business as a private review agent;\n(2) issue an order to cease and desist from acting as a private review agent without holding a certificate issued under this subtitle;\n(3) require a private review agent to make restitution to a patient who has suffered actual economic damage because of the violation; and\n(4) impose an administrative penalty of up to $5,000 for each violation of any provision of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=15-10B-12","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"01e79e79a5c159e3cc672756b5b461a39fcd2ce64b374d461b5a87d94057734d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-10b-11","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-10b-13"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
