Code, Insurance § 15–702","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to each self-funded group insurance plan that:\n(1) (i) is formed by an order, society, or association that is incorporated or has a main office in the State; or\n(ii) covers individuals who reside or work in the State; and\n(2) is issued, renewed, amended, or reissued on or after July 1, 1972.\n(b) Notwithstanding any other provision of a self-funded group insurance plan subject to this section, if the plan provides for reimbursement for a service that is within the lawful scope of practice of a physician, dentist, or podiatrist, the plan may not prohibit a person covered by the plan from being reimbursed for the service regardless of whether the service is performed by a physician, dentist, or podiatrist.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=15-702","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"6ca6fbfbe7d9434ef42685cceb2c962f23a4a86f3b3aadf74f4542aabe265f0a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-701","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
