Code, Insurance § 15–907","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “low-dose mammography” means an x-ray examination of the breast using dedicated equipment, including an x-ray tube, filter, compression device, screens, films, and cassettes, specifically for mammography that delivers an average radiation exposure of less than one rad mid-breast with two views for each breast.\n(b) If the federal standard under § 1882(p) of the federal Social Security Act is amended to authorize the inclusion of an annual mammography screening benefit in the core group of basic benefits for Medicare supplement policies, a Medicare supplement policy shall provide for coverage for an annual screening by low-dose mammography for the presence of occult breast cancer.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=15-907","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"80825d340be438831bcd5d9961bc442de42b097f530c71e163afed1df1a6a30b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-906","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-15-908"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
