Code, Insurance § 19–215","heading":"","body":"(a) An insurer that issues a policy of homeowner’s insurance in the State that contains an anti–concurrent causation (ACC) clause shall provide a policyholder each year with a notice that:\n(1) is clear and specific;\n(2) describes the ACC clause;\n(3) informs the insured to read the policy for complete information on the exclusions; and\n(4) states that the insured should communicate with the insurance producer or the insurer for additional information regarding the scope of the exclusions.\n(b) The notice under subsection (a) of this section:\n(1) is not part of the policy or contract of insurance; and\n(2) does not create a private right of action.\n(c) A notice required by this section may be delivered by electronic means if the insurer complies with the requirements of § 27–601.2 of this article.\n(d) The Commissioner may adopt regulations to implement this section.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=19-215","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"c07f44883f2a67866fa9a3ef628748e94ca6e2d88bde73a03c29d87bdea29b8d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-19-214","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-19-216"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
